P/S. I won the Jacob's 'Ibuku, Inspirasiku' Contest consolation prize with this ^^
My mummy has never force us to eat something that we don't like. However, she will definitely sort out a way to make sure that we get a balanced diet everyday. She is a good cook, and every morning, she will go to the market to buy the ingredients. When I was still a primary and secondary school student, what i do was go to school, went home, eat, attend tuition classes and sleep. I never realise the hardwork and effort that my mummy put in in every meal. Till, when i got my holidays back at home when i was a college student.
During the short holiday, I'll go to the market with my mummy and papa. That very first time, I realise my mummy put in her 100% effort in taking care of us. In her heart and mind, only one word 'FAMILY'. She wants us to be healthy and happy always. As there are quite many people in my house which includes my grandpa and aunts, everyone has different taste for food. Some dishes may suit someones, but maybe not to the others and vice versa. So, my mummy needs to think hard every morning on what to cook everyday. 'Ginger soy sauce chicken'? Hmm, grandpa likes it but my youngest brother does not. 'Curry chicken'? Hmm, my youngest brother likes it but my grandpa does not. All these are always playing in my mummy's head.
So, everyday she needs to figure out at least four dishes to be cooked and served so that everyone gets to eat heartily with all the nutrients being sufficiently provided. It seems to be an easy task, but definitely not. If u do not believe, then try handling a big family. =) I understood all these after a few trips to the market with my mummy. It was definitely a mind-cracking activities for my mummy to do every early in the morning.
Besides taking care of our daily nutrients, she will always make sure that we are always in good condition. No laziness, more exercising and always in fit condition. This is somehow my mummy's principles. For a good health condition, everyone should be in their ideal weight and food intake of the right amount. My mums always advises us to control goodly in these two things. And if we get sick, she will cook something special for us according to our sickness. More fruits and vegetables which are rich in vitamin C will be prepared as one of the saying goes, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."
Sweeping and mopping the floor is a must to do everyday in my house. This is to provide a clean and comfortable environment. My mummy definitely cannot withstand dirty and dusty environment as bacteria may grow bring infections. Upon seeing my mummy taking care of our family so well, i somehow implanted all these good habits in me unknowingly. So, I always set a target that I'll take my mummy as a role model in taking care of my family in future. She is definitely a big inspiration to me in leading a healthy lifestyle. Thanks to her, my whole family are as healthy as always.
